To contact the after school enrichment chairs: BASP@PeterKirkPTSA.org

Peter Kirk Elementary PTSA is excited to provide engaging afterschool activities located right at school. We have PTSA-partnered programs from local vendors and also parent-led programs. Each class must have a parent chaperone and the chaperone must be a PTSA member. The main duties of the chaperone are to make sure the students are safe and where they're supposed to be, and to ensure there are two adults present at all times (one being the instructor). By committing to chaperone the entire session for a class, your student gets free tuition for that entire session of that class.

Registration is done through 6crickets.

Spanish by Sponge

Sponge class is immersion based and it is designed to instill a love of language and culture while developing a language skill. Teachers use communicative approaches, with lots of movement, games, music, props and gestures that allow everyone to join in the fun. Young learners are primed for language learning - research shows that students are 70% more likely to gain fluency when they begin in elementary school or younger. Make language and culture a part of your child’s life and watch them embrace a new world!

While kids may bring in their own Pokémon cards and partake in learning how to strategize and build their own playing decks, there will also be decks provided that can be used by the club so kids with no prior experience can successfully engage.

Brick Forward LEGO Club

Students will play with LEGO, work in a team setting as well as individually to create LEGO builds that are fun, creative, and sharable. Students will come together, work together on sorting LEGO, and make their own creations using the LEGO bricks, then take it apart and put all the pieces into a box that can then be shared with students in schools that might not have the means to put together a LEGO Scavenger Hunt event. This program is to enable PK students to participate in “Brick Forward”, where PK students will be creating the LEGO boxes that can be given to another school to kick off their own LEGO Scavenger Hunt. Aside from students having fun playing with LEGO, this program will empower students to help other kids, learn about volunteerism through playing, and make an impact in the wider community.
