Marathon Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers May 1- May 29 to help track miles during lunch. There are multiple time slots in 30-45 minute increments.  

 

It is a great way for family members to get involved and cheer on the students!  All you have to do is sign-up for the lap tracker app on your phone, hit start and scan as our students complete each lap. The app will track all student progress as they run to their goal!

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month—the perfect time to celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time, energy, and heart to make a difference at Peter Kirk.

 

Has a teacher gone the extra mile for your family? Has a staff member made a meaningful impact on your child’s experience? Or is there a volunteer who has truly stood out this year? If so, we’d love for you to consider nominating them for a PTSA Award! These awards recognize those who go above and beyond to support our students and school community.

 

Submit your nomination by Friday, May 15th.

 

Our volunteers, staff, and teachers are the heart of our community—let’s take a moment to recognize and celebrate them!

Come to the School Play!

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house she goes. Red Riding Hood, not so little anymore, and her pre-teen pals try to stay on the straight and narrow in the latest adventure from the Missoula Children's Theatre, RED RIDING HOOD.  

 

School Play Showtimes :

Eagles In Action

Eagles in Action is a service-learning program open to all students at Peter Kirk, encouraging kids to give back to our school and greater community. Whether supporting a local organization or participating in school-based service, every act of kindness counts. 
 

If your student volunteered over winter break or is going to over spring break, now is a great time to log those hours! Don’t forget that time spent with Green Team and Safety Patrol also counts toward service hours. 

 

Students who complete 10 or more volunteer hours during the school year will be recognized with a small prize as a thank-you for their commitment to helping others. Let’s celebrate our Eagles for making a positive impact!

  • Dance Committee: Thank you to Danielle Zimmerman, Abigail Steele, KK Devuyst, Helen Harmetz, Liz Waters, and Deborah Kim for putting together an incredible school dance on March 6!
  • Clay & Art Docents: A massive thank you to our clay leads—Kari Tearse, Natalie Olin, Yuna Park, Heather Wachtler, Karen Lee, Krystal Grinde, Angie Diaz, and Christy Helmbrecht—as well as every single art docent and classroom volunteer who assisted them! We appreciate all of you for bringing creativity to our students.
  • Math Kangaroo: A massive high five to Sunny for successfully running Math Kangaroo for the very first time ever at Peter Kirk on March 19!
  • Yearbook Committee: Putting together the yearbook is an absolutely monumental task—truly one of the heaviest lifts of the entire year! A massive thank you to Amanda Vandermer, Colleen McCloskey, Dawn Liu, Gaye Kim, Julie Mai, and Orlene Cardwell for your ongoing dedication and the endless hours spent capturing, acquiring, and curating memories of our school year, and for coordinating with our 5th graders. We know you are deep in the weeds finishing up those final pages right now!
  • Spring After-School Enrichment: A huge thank you to Kaity Mason for coordinating our spring programs and managing the registration process to get everything up and running

Student Support Scholarships Available

Spring is a busy season with exciting school and PTSA events like the School Play, Carnival, field trips, and yearbook distribution.
 

We want every Eagle to be able to enjoy these school-wide activities. The PTSA offers need-based student support scholarships to help cover costs, ensuring that no one misses out. Scholarships are available throughout the entire school year and the process is completely confidential.
