PK GAME DAYS! - DOUBLE THE FUN, DOUBLE THE ACTION

Spring is around the corner! Get ready and gear up to join your fellow Peter Kirk families at a Mariners game this year! Mariners tickets are already in hot demand, so get your tickets early to secure your spot! Because this event has had such a great turnout with over 100 tickets sold last year, we have secured two game options to attend! Come to one or two! Both games will be sitting on the main lower level with a great view of the action, near 1st base-Mariners dugout side
We have a reserved block of seats so everyone can cheer on our home team together!!

OPEN Position: Director of Arts

The Director of Arts leads the beloved Art and Clay Docent Programs, Gallery Walk, and the annual Reflections Art Contest. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in exploring PTSA Board involvement and discovering if it’s a fulfilling path to pursue in the coming school years. Our PTSA Art program is already running smoothly and in full swing, providing you with strong support and the flexibility to ease into the role at your own pace. The 8 elected positions include:
- President - Responsible for the overall management of the PTSA
- Executive Vice President - Acts as an aide to the President and assumes duties as directed by the President
- VP of FACE - Responsible for connecting families to the PK community
- VP of Enrichment - Responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing enrichment and afterschool activities for PK students
- VP of Events - Responsible for overseeing and coordinating annual school-wide family events
- Secretary - Responsible for record-keeping and ensuring that PTSA is operating in accordance with PTSA by laws
- Treasurer: Reporting - Prepares monthly financial reports, reconciles bank statements
- Treasurer: Banking - Accounts payable and receivables

 S.N.A.C.K. Together (Share Nibbles And Cultural Knowledge) is back! Let's get together to celebrate the cultural diversity of our community through the sharing of snacks from different cultures around the world.
During this virtual Zoom event, we will sample snacks and drinks from different regions of the world. Each tasting will be led by a cultural speaker (a Peter Kirk community member!) who will introduce the snack, talk a little bit about their culture and share personal experiences and memories of their culture with stories and photos. This year our speakers will represent cultural regions from Australia, India, United States (Philadelphia) and Philippines.

100% Membership for the 9th year! - WE DID IT!

We are so happy to announce that we have achieved 100% membership for the 9th year in a row! Peter Kirk PTSA has an award-winning history of 100% membership and we are so thankful for this amazing community.
By joining a local PTA, like Peter Kirk Elementary PTSA, a member becomes part of the Washington State PTA, the largest volunteer and child advocacy organization in the state. Our future leaders, innovators, and citizens are our children, and our children are given their best chances to succeed when we all work together. Members of the PTA provide a powerful and effective voice for all children. Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime, can join PTA!
Volunteer Spotlight: Celebrating Our Amazing Art Docents!

Peter Kirk has an incredible team of parent volunteers who bring art to life for our students. They're our Art Docents, and we couldn't do it without them!
These dedicated individuals plan and teach engaging art lessons throughout the year, covering topics like line, shape, color, and texture. They introduce students to famous artists and art history, helping them develop techniques and learn new terminology. They even lead clay-glazing projects!
With 26 classes and 1-4 docents per class, this dynamic group shares the joy of teaching, collaborating on presentations, and inspiring each other with creative ideas. Some even shadow in other classes to learn new approaches!
As you can see from this collage, our students create amazing artwork under the guidance of our Art Docents! Our classrooms are well on their way to completing their fourth art lesson of the year, with many already diving into their next creative endeavor! Thanks to our Art Docents, every Peter Kirk student gets to experience the magic of art. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to making our school a more creative and vibrant place!

Classroom Connectors are busy compiling and uploading photos for the yearbook! They'll be selecting 24-30 of the best shots from each class by March 10, so be sure to share your favorite pictures with them. 📸
