Yearbook Needs Your Photos!

Families can upload school and PTSA event photos for possible inclusion in the yearbook. The yearbook team is currently collecting photos for the following events:

We did it, Eagles!  Thanks to our amazing community, we’ve officially met our Fund Our Eagles goal—but our work isn’t done yet. Now it’s time to make those dollars soar even higher!

 Volunteer too? Don’t forget—some employers also match volunteer hours! Whether you’re helping with a field trip, classroom project, or event, be sure to log those hours and designate Peter Kirk Elementary PTSA as your beneficiary.

We're so grateful for the enthusiastic response to this year's Reflections Art Program! Our students embraced the theme "I Belong!" and we received 20 incredible submissions across all arts categories. Thank you to every student artist for sharing their creativity!

 

What's Next? The Journey Continues!

For those who submitted an entry, the process now moves forward to the Lake Washington PTSA (LWPTSA) Council, State, and National levels.

 

Here are the key next steps in the timeline:

  • January: LWPTSA Council results will be announced on January 5, and we will host a special LWPTSA Reflections Open House on January 23 at the LWSD Resource Center to celebrate our entrants.
  • March: WSPTA (State-Level) winners will be announced.
  • May: National PTA winners will be announced.

We are so proud of all our students' wonderful work!

All Abilities Recess

In October, Peter Kirk students celebrated Disability Awareness Month with special recess activities that built inclusion, empathy, and connection. From teamwork games to creative challenges, our playground buzzed with laughter and learning as students discovered new strengths in themselves and their friends. 

 

A huge thank-you to Krystal Grinde, Kaity Mason, and McKenzie Vander Hoek for leading our first-ever All Abilities Recess—and to all the volunteers who made it possible!

 Thank You for a Spooktacular Trunk or Treat!

A little rain couldn’t dampen our spirits — and what a night it was!  We had an incredible 30+ trunks participate, bringing creativity, candy, and community to life in the Peter Kirk parking lot.
 

This year, we also introduced our first-ever Calm Cove, a sensory-friendly space that helped even more of our Eagles enjoy the fun. 

A huge thank-you to all the families who donated tricks and treats to our community cauldron and helped make this event such a success. We loved seeing all the costumes, smiles, and Halloween magic!

Student Support Scholarships Available

Spring is a busy season with exciting school and PTSA events like the School Play, Carnival, field trips, and yearbook distribution.
 

We want every Eagle to be able to enjoy these school-wide activities. The PTSA offers need-based student support scholarships to help cover costs, ensuring that no one misses out. Scholarships are available throughout the entire school year and the process is completely confidential.
