At Peter Kirk Elementary, we believe that every student should have the opportunity to participate in school activities and events. Thanks to the generosity of our PTSA and individual donors, we offer confidential scholarships to help cover the cost of various programs and activities. 

How to Request 

Reach out to our school counselor, Kristin Bauer, via email at kbauer@lwsd.org or through ParentSquare. You can share your request in a way that feels comfortable for you - a simple message is all it takes. We're here to help! 

What We Can Fund 

Scholarships can be used for a variety of school-related expenses, including: 

• Field Trips 
• Outdoor Education 
• PTSA Membership 
• PK Spirit Wear 
• School Pictures 
• Book Fair 
• School Supplies 
• Yearbooks 
• School Events (Dance, SNACK, School Play, Carnival, etc.) 
• In certain cases, After School Enrichment Programs

Confidentiality 

Rest assured; all scholarship requests are kept completely confidential. Only the school counselor will review the details of your request. In the case of PTSA Membership scholarships, the PTSA President will also be informed to ensure proper registration.

FAQs 

Who is eligible for a scholarship? 

Any family experiencing financial hardship is eligible for support. While eligibility for free or reduced lunch may indicate financial hardship, it is not a requirement for receiving a scholarship. 

What if the event costs more than the amount requested? 

Families can request either a full or partial scholarship. For partial scholarships, families are responsible for covering the remaining balance. 

How quickly will I receive a response to my request? 

You can expect a response from the school counselor within two school days. 

How far in advance do I need to request?  

Request should be made at least two school days prior to the event.
