Sustainability Committee

 

Mission

The Peter Kirk Elementary PTSA Sustainability Committee’s purpose is to promote sustainable practices and education, working in collaboration with the PTSA Board and the School Administration. The Committee pursues its mission by:
 

  • Communication - Spreading information about sustainable practices though the PTSA Eagle Flyer, the Principal’s Eagle Newsletter, PTSA Website, and Social media (i.e. Facebook page).

  • Support – Providing partnership and support for the Peter Kirk Green Team to achieve and maintain its goals within the King County Green School Program.

  • Events - Organizing annual and one-time events to promote sustainable practices (i.e. Earth Day, Walk to School day/month, etc.).

  • Community - Connecting the School with community members, to support and be supported in sustainable projects.

 

The Committee presents an annual Committee Plan of Action and budget to the PTSA Membership for approval and reports progress at least annually.
