Nominate a Deserving Volunteer for a 2024 LWPTSA Council Award!

Who are the people in your PTAs, your schools and your neighborhoods whose volunteerism, advocacy, leadership and service benefit the children in our community and exemplify our PTA mission? LWPTSA Council Awards recognize individuals and outreach organizations whose service goes "above and beyond" the typical job description, and often exceeds our expectations of what service looks like. We invite everyone to submit nominations for these 2025 LWPTSA Council Awards:
- Community Service Award
- Community Outreach Award
- Certificate of Special Service
- Golden Acorn Award (Outstanding Volunteer)
- Outstanding Educator Award
- Outstanding Advocate Award
- Outstanding Service Award
- Honorary Life Membership Award

OPEN Position: Director of Arts

The Director of Arts leads the beloved Art and Clay Docent Programs, Gallery Walk, and the annual Reflections Art Contest. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in exploring PTSA Board involvement and discovering if it’s a fulfilling path to pursue in the coming school years. Our PTSA Art program is already running smoothly and in full swing, providing you with strong support and the flexibility to ease into the role at your own pace. PTSA Winter After School Enrichment - Registration back open until 1/8 at 9am

Registration opens: December 9 at 7am
Program runs: January 13 - March 21
Classes offered this session: Chess, Robotics, Basketball, Japanese, Steamoji, Karate, Fencing, Yoga, Art, Drawing, Hip-Hop ,Coding and Intro to Robotics
A parent chaperone is required for each class, or the class cannot run. Free registration is available for any chaperone who is willing to volunteer for the entire session.

S.N.A.C.K is back - March 13

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee is excited to announce the return of S.N.A.C.K. Together to Peter Kirk on March 13, 2025 for the fourth year.
In this fun one-hour virtual event, we are not just exploring snacks and drinks. We are embarking on a global cultural adventure! Each tasting will be led by a speaker representing their culture. They will introduce their snacks, dive into their cultural background, and share their personal experiences and cherished memories tied to their culinary traditions.
If you are interested in being selected as one of our cultural SNACK speakers or know someone from the Peter Kirk community who deserves the spotlight, seize this moment and please fill out this interest form.

Reflections - Peter Kirk Student Advances to State

Congratulations to 2nd Grader, Lucy Henry, for receiving the Award of Excellence from the LWPTA Council for her film production, My Snowman Kitten. She will be advancing to the Washington State PTA round of competition.
LWPTSA Council invites Reflections students, families, chairs, judges and all community members to join them on Friday, Jan. 24, from 6:30 to 8 pm, at the LWSD Resource Center! At the Reflections Open House, they showcase the incredible and inspirational original artwork by the local PTAs' finalists who have advanced to the council-level competition, and feature those who are advancing on to the WSPTA-level round.

Save the date for our annual Dance Party, on February 28th. Our Eagles will participate in a week of dance lessons with the DANCE DUDE leading up to Friday's main event.
