Holiday Hopes

It’s the most wonderful time of the year — the season of giving!

We are excited to share that PK Cares (community Facebook Group - click to join!), in partnership with our school is once again supporting families in our community through our Holiday Hopes program. This year, we’re providing assistance to more than 10 families at Peter Kirk who could use a little extra support during the holidays.

Our goal is simple: to ensure every family in our school community feels cared for. Support may include holiday gifts, groceries, or help with other essential needs.

Gifts need to be purchased and dropped off by Friday, December 12th.

Thinking Ahead: PTA Awards

It may seem early, but it's time to start thinking about the incredible volunteers and educators who deserve recognition! Later this spring, we will open nominations for our annual awards, including the Golden Acorn, Golden Eagle, and Outstanding Educator. Keep your eyes peeled for those who go the extra mile!

A fair and impartial nomination process relies on the involvement of our members and helps ensure the long-term success of our PTA. The Nominating Committee typically meets 3–5 times to review and interview potential leaders for our board.

We are currently seeking additional committee members who are passionate about shaping the future of our PTSA!

Reflections Results & Virtual Gallery

Congratulations to Jordyn Chang, Jude Pollack, Hannah Pollack, Ling Yao, Ona Duran-McAlister, Lucy Henry, Zoe Steele, Arya Tutar, and Ariel Wu! These students earned top rankings at the local level and will advance to the LWPTSA Council district competition.

Did You Know? Our creative workshop was a huge hit! 11 of the students who attended the workshop went on to submit final entries for the competition. We are also proud to be sending 8 Visual Arts and 2 Film entries to the next round.

IMPORTANT: Original Art Needed If you have not yet turned in your original artwork, please drop it off at the Peter Kirk front office. We need these for the district showcase.

Join the Math Challenge!

Do you want your kids to get extra enrichment in math? 🧠✨ We’re already on the sixth Math Challenge set of the year (due Dec 11), but it’s not too late to join! This free enrichment program is open to all students and helps build problem-solving skills, perseverance, and a love of learning.

Each set offers fun, creative puzzles that can be done at home—perfect for kids who enjoy thinking outside the box. For those already participating, keep up the great work—we love seeing your enthusiasm for math!
